Childrens Kind Act

Add Your Kind Act to the Count

There was a time when there used to come just the daily soaps along with a movie once a week on television sets. Compare that time to today’s time when you switch the TV and you find a reality show running on almost every channel. The questions that come in mind are-how real are these reality shows? what effect do they leave on the participants and viewers?

Sprout Kindness Counts

Sprout Kindness Counts’ video answers the above asked questions very well. The expert opinions in the video points out towards the “reality” of these reality shows. Past 10 years have seen the emergence of reality shows to a great deal and now is one time when people have even started calling some of the reality shows as “scripted”. In addition, these reality shows raise the hopes of the contestants who strive to win and in the meanwhile, are emotionally attached to the show as well. and when they are voted out, not only their but their family’s and friends’ hopes and feelings are also affected.

The reason why a TV channel would “script” a reality show is because of the TRP. More TRP simply implies more money and that is what they aim to achieve. Asking people to vote for their favorite contestant in the show and every SMS costing almost five to six times than its usual cost; all this is categorized under revenue strategy. No doubt, certain reality shows are real but the same cannot be said for all. Times have changed and so is the focus of TV channels.
